Hilary Jacobs Hendel, LCSW
Hilary Jacobs Hendel, LCSW, has been involved in the AEDP community since 2004 when she first heard Diana present at a conference on Affect and Attachment in New York City. As well as being a Certified AEDP psychotherapist and supervisor, Hilary is also a psychoanalyst, graduating from the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy in 2008. She received her AEDP Certification in 2010. She has a background in the biological sciences, which began at the Bronx High School of Science. She majored in biochemistry at Wesleyan University and received a DDS from Columbia University. The medical education at Columbia included neuroscience, which Hilary has found so relevant to understanding why AEDP is such an effective treatment. Hilary also enjoyed being the Mental Health Consultant for the television series Mad Men. Hilary is passionate about educating the general public on emotions. She writes a blog called The Change Triangle, sharing the ideas of AEDP, emotions, and trauma recovery with people all over the world. Hilary’s book, It’s Not Always Depression: Working the Change Triangle to Listen to the Body, Discover Core Emotions, and Connect to Your Authentic Self will be published by Random House in February 2018.
